Three Charged Over Fatal Shooting Outside Mosque in Sweden
————————————-
Swedish prosecutors have formally charged three individuals in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred outside a mosque in the Vivalla district of Örebro during Friday prayers in August 2025.

According to the indictment, a 16-year-old suspect is accused of firing multiple gunshots at a man in his twenties on 15 August, killing him in what prosecutors described as an “execution-style” attack. Swedish media report that the teenager has confessed to carrying out the shooting.

The suspect is also charged with attempted murder after a second person was injured in the arm during the same incident.

Two additional suspects, aged 23 and 25, have been charged with murder, with prosecutors alleging they were involved in planning and facilitating the crime. Investigators say one of them was in video contact with an accomplice during the incident and helped identify the victim to the gunman before the shooting.

In total, nine other individuals have been charged with related offenses, including aiding and abetting, preparing a violent crime, and serious assault.

Authorities say the case is linked to ongoing conflicts between organized criminal networks, and have not indicated any religious motive despite the attack taking place near a mosque during prayer time.

The trial is ongoing, and the court will determine the legal responsibility of each defendant based on the evidence presented.
