Al-Andalusia Islamic University of Spain Faces Financial Challenge for New Campus

Al-Andalusia Islamic University of Spain, the country’s first Islamic university, is striving to establish its first physical campus after more than six years of online operation, MSN reported. Founded in Seville, the university currently serves over 600 students from 22 countries, offering courses in Quranic studies, pedagogy, psychology, and Islamic law in both Spanish and Arabic, with plans to introduce English by the 2026–2027 academic year.

However, the institution is facing a significant financial hurdle, needing €2 million (approximately RM9.57 million) to complete the campus project. So far, it has secured only 10% of the required funds.

The new site, located on an 18-hectare estate rich in Andalusian history, will feature classrooms for over 700 students, residential facilities, a mosque, and essential amenities.

As part of its fundraising efforts, the university is reaching out to potential benefactors globally and recently visited Malaysia. Contributions can be made through the university’s official website, with recognition offered to donors based on their contributions.
