Germany Bans Islamic Group Accused of Promoting Extremism and Antisemitism

The German government has banned the Islamic organization Muslim Interaktiv, accusing it of promoting antisemitism, discrimination, and extremist ideology that threatens the country’s constitutional order, The New Arab reported.

The Interior Ministry announced the ban on Wednesday, saying the group advocated for the establishment of an Islamic caliphate and rejected Germany’s democratic values. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said authorities would “respond with the full force of the law” to anyone who incites hatred against Israel or spreads intolerance toward women and minorities.

Muslim Interaktiv reportedly used social media platforms to target young Muslims who feel marginalized in German society. Officials said the group rejects gender equality and human rights, portraying Islamic law as superior to German law.

Police conducted raids on seven sites in Hamburg and 12 others in Berlin and Hesse, linked to Muslim Interaktiv and two related groups — Generation Islam and Reality Islam — that are now under investigation.

The domestic intelligence agency in Hamburg described the banned organization as part of a broader network of “modern TikTok Islamism,” using online content to radicalize youth.

The group’s online accounts were deactivated shortly after the ban, and it could not be reached for comment.
