Germany moves to tighten immigration and citizenship laws
……………..

Germany’s Cabinet has approved a bill introduced by Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt to limit family reunification rights for certain refugees, DW reported.

A separate draft law was also endorsed, aiming to revoke a previous policy that allowed well-integrated immigrants to apply for citizenship after just three years of residency. The move marks a shift from earlier immigration policies set by the previous coalition government.

According to DW, these developments come as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visits Berlin for talks with Chancellor Merz on continued German support for Ukraine and possible ceasefire efforts.
