Over 170 Afghan Citizens Resettled from Islamabad to Germany

A special flight carrying 174 Afghan citizens landed at Hanover Airport on March 28, 2025, Khaama press reported. This group, which includes 82 women and 92 men, was transferred from Islamabad as part of Germany’s ongoing resettlement efforts for those at high risk due to their previous work with the Afghan military or German organizations.
Among the resettled individuals are 74 minors, including nine children under the age of two. A spokesperson for Germany’s Ministry of the Interior confirmed that all passengers underwent rigorous security vetting before the flight, emphasizing the priority of safety in the selection process.
This transfer follows the resettlement of 132 Afghan refugees from Pakistan on March 5. Germany’s program aims to support Afghan citizens facing persecution under Taliban rule, reflecting a commitment to humanitarian aid and the global responsibility to assist displaced individuals.
