Germany to Deport Head of Banned Muslim Association
Germany has ordered the expulsion of Mohammad Hadi Mofatteh, the Iranian head of the recently banned Islamic Center Hamburg (IZH), giving him until September 11 to leave the country or face deportation, Arab News reported yesterday.
The IZH was banned in July for “pursuing radical Islamist goals,” with authorities citing its role in promoting an Islamic revolution in Germany.
Following the ban, social media accounts and the IZH website were taken down. The closure prompted Iran to summon the German ambassador in Tehran.
