Turkey’s Defence Ministry confirmed the incident, saying the C-130 aircraft went down while returning from Azerbaijan. Coordination with Georgian authorities is underway to recover the victims and investigate the cause. Footage shared by local media showed the aircraft descending rapidly and emitting white smoke before impact near the city of Signagi.

Georgian officials said investigators have launched an inquiry into the crash. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also offered condolences to Erdoğan, expressing solidarity with Turkey.
