Belgium to impose ban on cellphones in schools starting with 2025-2026 academic year
————————-
Belgium will implement a nationwide ban on the use of cellphones and other electronic devices in primary and secondary schools starting with the 2025-2026 academic year, except for educational purposes, health reasons, or emergencies, Anadolu Agency reported.
Although Belgium’s three language communities—French, Flemish, and German-speaking—have different regulations, the ban will apply across all regions. Schools will be responsible for deciding disciplinary measures related to the ban.
Belgian schools start the academic year on August 25 in French-speaking areas and September 1 elsewhere.
