Dutch Mayor to Visit Vandalized Mosque After Second Attack
—————————-
A mosque under construction in the northeastern Dutch city of Assen has been vandalized for a second time, prompting a visit from Mayor Marco Out., Iqna.ir reported. The most recent incident occurred overnight from Sunday to Monday when a large window at the back of the building was shattered with a paving stone. This follows a previous attack on July 25 where a rock was thrown through a front window.

Mohamed El Mourabit, the chairman of the mosque, expressed concern that the police were not taking the incidents seriously after the investigation into the first act was halted due to a lack of leads. However, the police have denied this claim, stating that they are investigating both incidents and considering the social context of the mosque.

In response to the attacks, the mosque’s board has increased security. Mayor Out has been in contact with El Mourabit and has promised to visit the site, emphasizing that he is taking the matter seriously.
