The Islamic Sheikhdom of Shkodra organized the 14th Annual Conference of Imams, scholars, and preachers on February 9, 2026, at the Bintin Mosque in northern Albania. Held under the theme “Reviving Islamic Awareness,” the conference took place shortly before the start of the holy month of Ramadan, giving it added significance.

Participants took part in two scholarly sessions focusing on jurisprudential and educational aspects of fasting, including its role in strengthening faith, self-discipline, and spiritual growth. Discussions also addressed key historical events associated with Ramadan, such as Laylat al-Qadr and the Battle of Badr, highlighting lessons of patience and perseverance.

The conference also reflected on the experience of observing fasting during Albania’s communist era, emphasizing the resilience of the Muslim community. Addressing attendees, the Mufti of Shkodra called on imams to use Ramadan as an opportunity for individual reform, social unity, and renewed engagement with the Quran.
