Australian University Warns of Rising Islamophobia Following Sydney Attack
————————————————-
Following the recent terrorist attack in Sydney, an Australian university professor has warned of a potential surge in Islamophobia across the country.

According to Shia Waves Agency, citing ABNA 24, Mark Kenny, a professor of Australian Studies at the Australian National University, stated that the heightened emotional climate after the deadly shooting at Bondi Beach could create conditions for violence against Muslims.

He noted that certain Sydney neighborhoods with significant Muslim populations may become targets of retaliatory behavior.

Professor Kenny emphasized that, despite the Australian government’s calls for national unity, attributing a violent act to an entire religious community puts innocent lives at risk and carries serious social and security consequences.
