Nepal’s Nima Rinji Becomes Youngest Climber to Scale All 14 Peaks Above 8,000 Meters
18-year-old Nepali climber Nima Rinji Sherpa has made history by becoming the youngest person to ascend all 14 peaks above 8,000 meters (26,247 feet), Anadolu Agency reported yesterday.
He reached this milestone on October 9, after summiting Mt. Shishapangma, which stands at 8,027 meters.
Nima’s extraordinary journey began in September 2022 with his first climb of Mt. Manaslu (8,163 meters). Over the next two years and 40 days, he accomplished the incredible feat of scaling these towering summits, including Mt. Everest, the world’s highest peak, in May 2023, and K2, the second-highest, in July 2023. His dedication and skill have solidified his place in the elite club of high-altitude climbers, inspiring many with his record-breaking achievements in the world of mountaineering.
