MIHAS 2026: Malaysia Targets Halal Trade Growth to Expand Exports
———————————–
Malaysia is preparing to strengthen its position in the global halal economy through the 22nd Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS), scheduled to take place from September 23 to 26, 2026, at the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) has invited Malaysian companies to participate in the International Sourcing Programme (INSP), a key part of MIHAS that connects halal exporters with international buyers through targeted business meetings.

MATRADE said the growing interest from overseas buyers reflects MIHAS’s role as a major global platform for halal trade. While food and beverage products remain central, demand has expanded to sectors including agriculture, fashion, education, Islamic finance, industrial equipment, packaging, pharmaceuticals and animal products.

For MIHAS 2026, organizers aim to achieve total business transactions of 4.5 billion ringgit, including 2 billion ringgit in export sales through the INSP programme. More than 500 international buyers from 55 countries are expected to participate in the event.
