Malaysia Hosts 65th International Quran Competition with 49 Nations Participating

Malaysia’s 65th International Al-Quran Recital and Memorization Assembly (MTHQA) officially opened on Saturday, August 2nd, in Kuala Lumpur, Iqna.ir reported. The prestigious competition features 71 participants representing 49 countries and is scheduled to run until August 9th.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officiated the opening ceremony, reaffirming Malaysia’s commitment to promoting the universal message of the Quran. During the event, the Prime Minister also announced the forthcoming launch of the “Mushaf Ummah Program” on August 8th, an initiative aimed at disseminating official Quran translations in 30 different world languages.

This year’s MTHQA is being held under the theme of “Developing a MADANI Community.” Winners of the competition will be awarded cash prizes and jewelry.
