Malaysia Expands Support for Quran Memorizers Through Education Initiatives
The Malaysian government has pledged to enhance support for the huffaz generation, focusing on both Quranic memorization and professional skills development, Iqna news agency reported.
Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced updates to the National Tahfiz Education Policy (DPTN), which includes improvements to the Sijil Tahfiz Malaysia 2.0 and the Sijil Perakuan Hafazan Bertahap (SPHB) certification, alongside the Hafiz Financing Scheme (SPH).
At the recent 24K Huffaz Gathering, attended by 24,000 participants, including students and scholars from 1,500 Quranic tahfiz madrasahs, Zahid emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering huffaz as future leaders in morality and ethics. The event, officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, highlighted the theme “Huffaz Tonggak Modal Insan Negara,” showcasing the importance of integrating religious education with vocational training.
Zahid reiterated that huffaz are vital human capital for national development and expressed hope that the Quran will continue to guide Muslims in Malaysia. The initiative aims to inspire unity and elevate the status of Quranic education in the nation.
