5.8-magnitude earthquake shakes northwestern China

The European Mediterranean Seismological Center announced this morning, Tuesday, that an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale shook the Xinjiang Autonomous Region in northwestern China.

It should be noted that most of the Uyghur Muslims live in this province.

Last week, a similar earthquake occurred in the same autonomous region.

So far, there have been no reports of casualties or possible damages related to this morning’s earthquake.
