Human rights organizations condemn Malaysian government’s extremist stance towards Shias

Today, Tuesday, human rights organizations accused the Malaysian government of its extremist stance towards Shia Muslims, which led to dire consequences for the followers of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) in the country.

This comes at a time when the mystery of the enforced disappearance of Shia cleric Amri Chi Matt from Perlis State since 2017 has not yet been revealed, in which the Malaysian government is accused.

According to what was reported by the Malaysian Kenya Agency, followed by Shia Waves Agency, human rights organizations called on Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to “reveal facts behind enforced disappearance of the Shia cleric with Christian clerics.”

The human rights organizations added that “the enforced disappearances are a disgrace and a mockery of the slogan of Malaysian democracy.”

It stressed that “the enforced disappearances and the hardening stance towards the Shia component in the country have descended to an immoral level, in which the Malaysian government has been likened to dictatorships and one-party states.”
