At a time when Muslims are persecuted in India, UAE opens first Hindu temple
On Tuesday October 4th, the Dubai government inaugurated a Hindu temple that houses 16 “Hindu deities”, with the aim of providing places of worship for all denominations; while Muslim minority in India is suffering from violations and acts of displacement and persecution, practiced by the Indian authorities and the party of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which sparked widespread criticism, both locally and in the Arab world.
The temple was built at a cost of about 60 million dirhams (16 million dollars) and can accommodate 1,000 people at one time.
In this regard, Muhammad Al-Saghir, a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, said: “At a time when India inflicts bad punishment on Muslims, demolishes mosques and restricts their worshippers, the UAE opened in Dubai the largest Hindu temple in the Arab world, which cost 16 million dollars to build, on an area of 2,300 square meters, and accommodates about a thousand people, as if they were in a state of provocation to the feelings of Muslims.”
