Authorities in Colombia have confirmed multiple casualties and at least 15 missing people after a landslide struck the municipality of Bello, near Medellín, France 24 reported. The disaster was triggered by flooding in a ravine, according to media reports.
Antioquia Governor Andrés Julián Rendón said residents were warned to evacuate due to ongoing landslide risks. Images showed homes buried under mud and debris, while streets and vehicles were caked in sludge.
Social media users also shared videos of severe flooding in the area. Antioquia, located in the Colombian Andes, frequently experiences landslides during the rainy season. Last month, five died in nearby Sabaneta.
