The Imam Shirazi World Foundation calls on leaders of Islamic countries to release those arrested on political grounds
On the International Day of Charity, the Imam Shirazi World Foundation called on all leaders and rulers of Islamic countries to take the initiative to release political detainees.
The Foundation stated in a statement received by the Shia Waves News Agency, “Charity works were and still are the hope that people follow to face the vicissitudes and horrors of life, which is an innate matter that stems from the social nature of man, and reflects the upbringing and culture that man was built upon since childhood. Heavenly laws, social norms and international laws urged man to follow it in every gesture of action issued by people collectively or independent individuals, until it became a noble moral and a characteristic of nobles. Through it, societies thrive if it spreads, or collapse if it recedes.”
It added, “The international community singled out the importance of doing good deeds one day as an expression of the importance of this behavior. On the fifth of September, a special day for charitable work, during which visions, theories and schemes that contribute and urge the intensification of charitable work are evoked.”
The Foundation added, “The best of charitable work is the one that people do together, and this does not diminish the individual act of goodness, but rather overflows the communities, individually and collectively, with a positive return in all circumstances, both difficult and prosperous.”
And he continued, “Doing good may have an absolute character, and it is not specified in any form or face. Every act that contributes to helping others, regardless of their race, nationality, gender or belief, is classified as a good deed that is praiseworthy on earth and the sky.”
The Imam Shirazi World Foundation called on all leaders and rulers of Islamic countries to take the initiative to release political prisoners, especially prisoners of conscience and opponents, in addition to launching initiatives to improve the living conditions of their citizens, and push for the consolidation of the principle of charitable work by helping other afflicted peoples, and contributing to reforming relations, and taking the initiative to resolve political disputes, armed conflicts and ongoing disputes, based on a pure intention to do good.
