Indian Man Fakes Muslim Identity in UK Flight Bomb Threat

An Indian national, identified as 41-year-old Abhay Devdas Nayak, caused a major security alert on an EasyJet flight from London Luton to Glasgow on Sunday, July 27, after allegedly faking a Muslim identity and making bomb threats, Clarion India reported.

Approximately an hour into the flight, Nayak reportedly emerged from the restroom shouting “Allahu Akbar!” and anti-American slogans, while claiming to possess an explosive device. Passengers quickly intervened to restrain him as the pilot initiated an emergency diversion.

The aircraft made an unscheduled landing at Glasgow Airport at around 8:20 AM, where authorities were waiting. Nayak was immediately arrested by police. He has since been charged with assault and endangering aircraft safety under UK aviation laws at Paisley Sheriff Court. Investigations suggest Nayak, whose name is of Hindu origin, intended to incite fear by falsely portraying a Muslim identity. No explosives were found on the aircraft. Nayak remains in custody, with further court proceedings anticipated next week.
