At least 46 people were killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Uganda’s Kampala-Gulu highway early Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reported. Police said the death toll was revised from an initial count of 63 after several victims initially thought dead were later found unconscious in hospitals. The crash occurred around 12:15 a.m. local time near Kitaleba Village, involving two buses, a lorry, and an SUV.
Authorities said they are coordinating with medical and emergency teams to provide accurate updates as investigations continue. Police extended condolences to the victims’ families and urged drivers to observe greater caution on the roads, describing the incident as one of the most serious traffic accidents the country has seen this year.
