The Global Nonviolence Organization (Freemuslim) has expressed deep concern over ongoing protests in Tunisia, citing growing frustration among citizens over worsening living conditions and declining public freedoms. Demonstrations have recently intensified in cities such as Gabes, where residents are protesting environmental pollution and calling for political reforms, including the release of detainees and an end to what the opposition describes as authoritarian rule.

In a statement received by the Shia Waves Agency, the organization reaffirmed that peaceful protest and the pursuit of legitimate rights are fundamental principles protected under international norms. It urged Tunisian authorities to respond promptly to public demands, particularly those related to economic hardship, environmental safety, and social justice. The group emphasized that Tunisia’s stability depends on respecting human rights, upholding democratic principles, ensuring freedom of expression, and promoting dialogue rather than repression.
