At least 17 killed in Al Shabaab attack on military base in Somalia

Al Shabaab terrorists attacked a military base in Somalia, killing at least 17 people, Reuters reported.

The attackers briefly occupied the Busley base in the Lower Shabelle region using suicide car bombs, the news agency added.

According to the report, government reinforcements drove the assailants out, resulting in the deaths of 7 soldiers and 10 al Shabaab fighters.

The Sunni extremist group also burned military vehicles and took others during the assault.
