FreeMuslim Association Condemns Manda Massacre in Niger, Demands Immediate Action
…………………..
The FreeMuslim Association—an international anti-violence organization—has strongly condemned what it described as a “horrific massacre” carried out by armed groups in the village of Manda, western Niger, which left more than seventy civilians dead — most of them worshippers on their way to a mosque.
In a statement received by Shia Waves Agency, the organization denounced the “cowardly terrorist act” as a flagrant violation of international law, divine teachings, and basic human norms. The group stressed that targeting people on their way to places of worship is a heinous crime that surpasses all limits of brutality.
Offering its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Niger, the organization called on the international community and human rights bodies to take urgent measures, including: launching an immediate and transparent investigation to uncover the circumstances of the massacre and bring the perpetrators to justice without delay; ensuring full protection for civilians in areas vulnerable to attacks by armed groups — especially border villages in western Niger; supporting government efforts to combat terrorism in strict compliance with human rights and international law; and addressing the root causes of violence such as poverty, marginalization, and lack of justice, which fuel the spread of extremist violence.
The FreeMuslim Association concluded its statement by reaffirming its unwavering rejection of all forms of violence and extremism, urging the promotion of peace, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among communities, and emphasizing the moral and humanitarian responsibility the world must uphold in the face of such recurring atrocities.
