Heavy clashes between security forces and the armed group Al-Kabuwat have raged in the Libyan city of Zawiya since Monday, causing severe disruption and threatening the country’s national infrastructure.

According to Shia Waves Persian, the fighting has knocked power generation units at the South Tripoli power station offline and damaged transmission lines, posing a serious threat to the stability of the national electricity grid. Additionally, the Zawiya Oil Refinery has issued a warning regarding the risk of damage to its vital oil facilities.

As tensions persist, schools along the conflict route have been closed, and the local Council of Elders reported six injuries. The Libyan Red Crescent has urged residents to exercise caution and stay away from windows to avoid potential harm. Efforts to broker a ceasefire are ongoing.
