Ghana Mosque Hosts ‘Ramadan Welcome’ Quran Recitation

The National Mosque in Accra has celebrated its annual Quran recitation event, Ramadan Marhaba, welcoming the holy month of fasting, Iqna news agency reported.

Over 500 Muslim children from various nationalities gathered at the Mosque in Nima to demonstrate their Quran recitation skills.

The event aimed to educate children about the significance of Ramadan, highlighting the dos and don’ts during the fasting period and the spiritual benefits associated with it. Alhaji Jabir Kango, the Deputy Administrator of the National Mosque, emphasized the importance of introducing children to their faith early to prevent them from deviating in society.

Participants, dressed in traditional Jenabiya and Abaya garments, captivated the audience with their well-rehearsed recitations and choreographed performances, illustrating stories from the Quran. The gathering not only fostered a sense of community among the children but also aimed to instill a lifelong practice of Quran recitation, strengthening their faith in God as they approach Ramadan.
