Gunmen kill dozens of worshipers in mosque attack in southern Burkina Faso

A tragic wave of violence has unfolded in Burkina Faso, as both Muslims and Catholics were targeted in deadly attacks, Al Jazeera reported yesterday.

Armed assailants struck a mosque in Natiaboani during morning prayers, claiming numerous Muslim lives. On the same day, a Catholic church in Essakane was attacked during Sunday mass, resulting in the deaths of at least 15 civilians.

These incidents are part of the ongoing turmoil in Burkina Faso, with security forces countering hundreds of militants in response.

The West African region has seen a disturbing trend of assaults on places of worship and religious leaders, highlighting the persistent threat posed by rebel factions.
