Tunisia: Salafist Muslim Brotherhood collapses after referendum on new constitution

According to opinion polls conducted in Tunisia today Tuesday, more than 92 percent voted “yes” in favor of the new constitution in Tunisia, after the polls closed in the referendum on the new draft constitution.

Despite the participation of 27% of the Tunisian people in the referendum, including the Shia, it has finally resolved the crushing retreat of the Muslim Brotherhood, which brought destruction to the country.

Tunisian state television confirmed that opinion polls showed “overwhelming approval” of voters in the referendum on the new constitution in Tunisia.

During the years that followed the Arab Spring in Tunisia, the political conflicts between various parties caused the Tunisian people to fall victims and remained in a continuous crisis, especially the domination of the Muslim Brotherhood movement, and their end was corruption and money laundering charges, and their leaders were convicted in other countries of terrorist operations.

Experts assert that “Tunisia was the last stronghold of the Salafist Muslim Brotherhood movement, and has now largely collapsed thanks to the will of the Tunisian people.”
