Followers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, in Kargil district located on the Tibetan plateau in the northwest of the Himalayas, revived the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, with new ideas by the youth of the district in light of its closure due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
The youth of Kargil district this year turned to the use of social media and television to broadcast mourning ceremonies and condolences on the sorrowful occasion, while others insisted on attending the Husseiniyyat near their homes, but with a smaller number than in previous years, and revived the mourning processions while adhering to preventive health measures.
As for the rural areas of Kargil, with mountainous terrain, mourners sat in their homes and listened to the lectures that were broadcasted over the internet as well as through loudspeakers that were distributed near residential homes, according to a press report published by The Count.
The report indicated that the government authorities in Kargil district allowed a small number of people to revive the Husseini mourning ceremonies and processions.
