France’s Muslim community revives Muharram
Ahlulbayt followers in the French capital, Paris, revived the nights of Muharram through mourning ceremonies established by the Imam al-Khoei Foundation, while adhering to the health guidelines in light of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Ahlulbayt followers in the French capital, Paris, revived the nights of Muharram through mourning ceremonies established by the Imam al-Khoei Foundation, while adhering to the health guidelines in light of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Sheikh Ismail al-Khaliq said in a statement, “Despite the spread of Covid-19 in France, followers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, were determined to hold the rituals of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, amid strict health measures, including measuring temperature, wearing masks and gloves, as well as providing sterilizers and maintaining social distancing.”
The mourners affirmed that they will continue to follow the footsteps of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and are taking lessons from the immortal tragedy through these ceremonies.
