Wilaya Week celebrations were held in India, which began with the advent of Eid al-Ghadeer, and continued until the Day of Mubahala, receiving broad media coverage in local newspapers.

The celebrations came following the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence, Grand Ayatollah Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, and under the supervision of his representative, Sayyed Saif Abbas Naqvi, as they included many cultural, religious and social activities.

The activities included inviting scholars and preachers from inside and outside India to give lectures on the seven nights, where the program was broadcasted live on TV channels and streamed on the internet.
