Unknown vandals have damaged Kursum Mosque in the Greek city of Trikala, according to news.ru.
Attackers threw stones at the building and broke the glass in it.
The attack on the mosque occurred on the night of July 14. The police are looking for the persons involved in it, as well as taking measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The incident could be a response to the decision of the Turkish authorities to turn Hagia Sophia in Istanbul into a functioning mosque.
News.ru earlier reported citing Turkish Official Presidential Representative Ibrahim Kalin that the transformation of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul from a museum into a mosque won’t prevent all interested tourists from visiting it.
