A human rights organization announced that it submitted a formal request to Britain, the United States and Turkey to arrest senior Emirati officials on suspicion of war crimes and torture in Yemen, accusing Abu Dhabi of targeting its critics there.
The legal organization added in a press conference held in the British capital, London, that it would reveal evidence of the UAE’s involvement in war crimes and crimes against humanity against Yemenis.
It said that it presented this evidence to the authorities in three countries, Britain, the United States and Turkey, calling for an investigation into these crimes.
The organization pointed out that Mohammed Dahlan, advisor to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Zayed, employed American mercenaries to carry out liquidation operations against the leaders of the Yemeni Reform Party.
Reuters news agency quoted sources as saying that the three countries received official requests to arrest senior Emirati officials on suspicion of committing war crimes and torture in Yemen.
The UAE is a major partner in the Saudi-led aggression coalition in Yemen since March 2015, which has committed numerous crimes against humanity against defenseless Yemenis.
