King of Bahrain issues decree pardoning the remaining penalties for 269 convicts

Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Decree No. 101 of 2019 issued a special pardon for the remainder of the period of deprivation of liberty imposed in some cases.

The decree stipulates that the remainder of the period depriving of liberty and the fine penalties imposed on the convicts will be forfeited.

International human rights organizations and bodies have repeatedly called for the release of Bahrain’s prisoners of conscience and political detainees, and to provide the atmosphere for fair trials.
