The head of the far-right group ‘Stop Islamization of Norway’, Arne Tomer, has insulted the Quran after he was banned from burning a copy of it, with hundreds of anti-racists participating in a protest.
The head of the far-right group ‘Stop Islamization of Norway’, Arne Tomer, has insulted the Quran after he was banned from burning a copy of it, with hundreds of anti-racists participating in a protest.
According to the Norwegian state television (NRK), members of the far-right group “Stop Islamization of Norway”, staged a protest in a neighborhood inhabited by immigrants in the southern city of Kristiansand.
It added that the head of the far-right group wanted to burn a copy of the Quran in order to offend Muslims.
In response, a group of anti-racist of 500 Norwegian Muslims and non-Muslim activists organized a protest at the same venue, demanding police to end the far-right group.
During the protest, participants chanted slogans denouncing racism and carried a banner reading “We don’t want racists and anti-Islamists on our streets.”
