The Canadian Green Party has accepted the resignation of Eric Schuman, the party’s candidate in Simco North, Ontario.

“The Green Party has zero tolerance for all forms of gender discrimination, Islamophobia, antisemitism, misogynism and hate speech,” the party, led by Elizabeth May, said in a statement.

This came in response to a request from the “National Council of Canadian Muslims” to remove the name of Eric Schuman from the list of candidates for the federal general elections.
