On Tuesday 10th September, Ameed Versace of the Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society delivered a Time for Reflection on the Day of Ashura to Members of the Scottish Parliament.
The Day of Ashura is observed by Muslims across the world. It was the day on which the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad was martyred along with his family and companions 1400 years ago.
Imam Hussain has for centuries been the inspiration for change and reform across the world; a divinely inspired leader who taught us the highest human values.
Attending was the Presiding Officer, the Rt Hon. Ken Macintosh MSP, and Bill Kidd MSP.
The Scottish Parliament prides itself on representing the diversity of the nation, and allowing a voice to all segments of society.
