Kuwait’s court of cassation on Monday upheld the detention of Kuwaiti activist Mohammed Khalid al-Hajri for three years with work and access on charges of offending Saudi Arabia and its crown prince Mohammed bin Salman.

A Kuwaiti court of appeal issued the ruling on May 21, a day after al-Hajri was arrested for a series of videos in which he rejected Saudi Arabia’s boycott of Qatar.

The videos published by al-Hajri prompted the Saudi ambassador to Kuwait to file a complaint against him in June 2018.

Activists launched #We_Are_All_Al-Hajri, in which they expressed solidarity with him, and asked the Emir of Kuwait to intervene and forgive him.

It is noteworthy that al-Hajri has participated in several political programs in Kuwait and Gulf channels.
