An unknown person attempted to set fire to the Turkish mosque in the city of Chateaudun, in the Eure-et-Loir region in northern France.
Media sources quoted the Secretary-General of al-Ro’ya Islamic Society, Fateh Sarikir, saying “An unknown person set fire to the mosque after pouring petrol on the front door,” indicating that “the fire resulted in some damage to the mosque.”
Mosque officials filed a complaint while police teams conducted investigations.
The district police confirmed that it will check the recordings of the mosque’s surveillance cameras, as part of the investigation.
