UN: humanitarian efforts suspended due to conflict in Aden

The UN deputy humanitarian coordinator in Yemen said in a press release that relief workers in Aden had stayed at home unable to continue their life-saving activities as a result of the clashes.
Anderson stressed that the conflict has been negatively affecting the safety and protection of the civilian population and the continuity to provide life-saving services throughout the southern provinces since 28 January.
On behalf of the humanitarian community in Yemen, Andersen called on all parties to immediately end the fighting, protect civilians and ensure immediate and unimpeded humanitarian access, pointing out that the violence and shelling in the city of Aden have so far killed 36 people and wounded 185.
