AMNESTY: Bahrain must end the systematic muzzling of peaceful dissenting voices

Amnesty International has today called on the Bahraini authorities to halt its relentless crackdown on the rights to freedom of expression.

 

Amnesty International has today called on the Bahraini authorities to halt its relentless crackdown on the rights to freedom of expression.

This call comes after the authorities’ have notably intensified their clampdown on freedoms in Bahrain since June 2016.

In addition to imposing travel bans on scores of human rights defenders and political activists since June 2016, the Bahraini authorities have also intensified their clampdown on the rights to freedom of expression and assembly in relation to the peaceful sit-in in Duraz which started on 20 June.
