London University discusses Shia identity development in the West

The International Media of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, in cooperation with the UK-based Integrity Association, have organized an intellectual symposium under the title, “Shia Identity Frameworks” in London.
The symposium was held in the Lecture Hall at Soas University where Dr. Yafa Shanneik, honorary research fellow at South Wales University, and Chris Heinhold from Chester University, presented researches tackling topics such as the reflection of Hussein’s Revivalism in literature, art and rituals in addition to building the Shia identity.
Haider al-Mangooshi, event coordinator, said “The symposium witnessed attendances from those interested in intellectual affairs along with college students and journalists.”
More than 130 students, professors and intellectuals attended the event, which focused on the foundation and ethics of the Infallibles that are based on respect, human rights, justice and are away from violence and extremism.
