A major earthquake has hit Afghanistan, northern Pakistan and parts of India
A major earthquake has hit Afghanistan, northern Pakistan and parts of India, with more than 100 killed and early reports suggesting it has caused extensive damage in mountainous areas.
The 7.5 magnitude quake was centered in the province of Badakhshan in the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan’s far north, and occurred at a depth of 130 miles. Officials said at least 76 people were known to have been killed in Pakistan and 24 in Afghanistan.
