Tens of Shia Muslims rallied in New York demanding the reconstruction of Jannatul Al-Baqi Cemetery in Medina, which was demolished by King Ibn Saud on the 8th of Shawwal in the year 1345 AH (1925).
In the same year, Saud also demolished the tombs of holy figures at Jannat al-Mualla (Makkah) where the mother, wife, grandfather and other ancestors of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his progeny, are buried.
The destruction and demolition has focused on mosques, burial sites, homes and historical sites that are associated with Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his progeny.
