Cambodia Enhances Muslim-Friendly Tourism with Airport Prayer Rooms
————————————-
Cambodia has inaugurated dedicated prayer rooms at its two main international airports — Techo International Airport and Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport — in a strategic move to attract more Muslim tourists, Reuters reported, citing Travel and Tourism Online International Media.
The facilities are designed to meet the religious needs of Muslim travelers, improving their overall travel experience. Techo International Airport, with an annual capacity of 13 million passengers, and Siem Reap–Angkor Airport, the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Angkor Wat complex, now provide spaces for prayer and worship.
Officials say the initiative aligns with Cambodia’s Islamic tourism development program, which seeks to enhance religious inclusivity while boosting the country’s profile as a welcoming destination for Muslim visitors.
Tourism authorities highlighted that these measures reflect Cambodia’s commitment to interfaith coexistence and to positioning itself as an increasingly attractive destination for global Muslim travelers.
