Weather experts project 23 storms for ‘extremely active’ Atlantic hurricane season

The 2024 Atlantic hurricane season is expected to be “extremely active,” with forecasters predicting 23 storms, 11 of which could become major hurricanes, VOA reported.

This increase is due to warm ocean temperatures and weather patterns that are less likely to break up storms, the source mentioned.

According to experts, the end of the El Niño weather pattern and the incoming La Niña pattern are also contributing factors.

They stress a high probability of major hurricanes making landfall in the United States and the Caribbean.
