Algerian Researcher: Fatima (peace be upon her) a Quranic Model for Justice and Moral Guidance in Islam

Algerian researcher Sadek Selaimia has highlighted the enduring significance of Fatima (peace be upon her) in teaching Muslims to rely on the Quran in defending justice and upholding Islamic principles. In an interview with IQNA on December 11, 2025, Selaimia emphasized that Lady Fatima (peace be upon her) provided a practical model for both men and women to remain steadfast in the face of political and social injustices.
Selaimia noted that Fatima (peace be upon her) exemplified moral, spiritual, and behavioral excellence, and her descendants continue her legacy as living embodiments of the Holy Prophet’s (peace be upon him and his pure family) message. Drawing on the Hadith of the Two Weights, he stressed that Fatima and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) are inseparable from the Quran, serving as sources of guidance for the Muslim community.
Historically, Lady Fatima (peace be upon her) relied solely on Quranic argumentation to assert her rights during the confiscation of Fadak, countering attempts to override Divine law with isolated sayings. Similarly, during the events of Saqifa, Her Majesty cited Quranic verses to condemn the breaking of pledges and discord, appealing directly to communal conscience.
Selaimia underlined that Lady Fatima (peace be upon her) demonstrated how a Muslim woman can be both deeply spiritual and actively engaged in defending truth and justice. Her life provides a timeless model of loyalty, moral courage, and adherence to Quranic principles, inspiring generations of Muslims to uphold justice and preserve authentic Islamic values.
