UNICEF Reports 28 Children Killed Daily in Gaza, Calls for Immediate Ceasefire

The UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has stated that an average of 28 children are being killed every day in Gaza due to bombardments, malnutrition, starvation, and a lack of vital aid, Anadolu Agency reported. The agency noted that this daily death toll is equivalent to the size of a classroom.
UNICEF stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire, along with the provision of food, clean water, medicine, and protection for the children in the region. The report notes that Israel has rejected calls for a ceasefire and has continued its offensive since October 7, 2023. The conflict has resulted in the deaths of nearly 61,000 Palestinians and has pushed the enclave to the brink of famine.
