British Academic Journal Releases Special Issue on Islamic Jurisprudence and Environmental Rights
——————————
A UK-based academic journal has published a special issue examining Islamic jurisprudence and environmental rights in Muslim societies, with a particular focus on Asia and contemporary environmental challenges.
The peer-reviewed journal Legal Transformation in Societies, registered in the United Kingdom, said the special edition explores the jurisprudential, legal and policy dimensions of environmental protection in several Asian countries. The issue seeks to analyse the relationship between Islamic jurisprudence and modern environmental law, highlighting how religious and ethical values can influence environmental policymaking in Muslim-majority contexts.
According to the journal, the special issue focuses on the contribution of Islamic legal principles to the development of environmental legislation and their capacity to respond to current challenges, including sustainability and the protection of natural resources. The edition presents analytical and comparative approaches aimed at enriching academic debate on the role of faith-based legal traditions in addressing environmental concerns.
The editorial board expressed hope that the publication would serve as an academic platform for theoretical and empirical research that deepens scholarly discussion on the intersection of Islamic law and environmental law. Researchers and specialists have been invited to submit contributions for the special issue titled Islamic Jurisprudence and Environmental Law in Asia: Legal, Ethical and Policy Perspectives.
The journal’s editorial board includes academics and researchers from universities and research centres in several countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, India, Pakistan, Qatar and Jordan, reflecting its international scope.
The journal added that further details on the themes of the special issue, submission guidelines and publication procedures are available through its official channels.
